Captain Steve Gould brings over two decades of professional angling experience to every charter, backed by a lifelong passion for fishing and an impressive record guiding on diverse waters across the United States and Canada. His deep understanding of the sport goes far beyond standard techniques; it is rooted in a genuine ability to read the water and anticipate the needs of every guest who steps aboard. Before dedication to full-time guiding, Steve owned a successful leader and lure business where he designed and hand-crafted thousands of wooden lures used by anglers nationwide. This unique background gives him an unmatched, technical understanding of fish behavior and presentation that he shares freely with his clients. Now based in Naples, Florida, Captain Steve operates year-round charters, tracking the subtle, seasonal shifts of the Southwest Florida ecosystem. His intimate knowledge of the local backcountry, passes, and nearshore reefs gives his guests a distinct advantage when targeting premier regional species like snook, redfish, and tarpon. For Steve, a successful day on the water isn't measured solely by the catch, but by the quality of the experience. He tailors every departure to the experience level of his group, ensuring that seasoned anglers find the challenge they want, while newcomers receive patient, clear instruction in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Versatility defines Captain Steve’s approach to guiding. He is equally skilled in light-tackle finesse tactics as he is with heavy-tackle setups, constantly adjusting the strategy to match the day's tides and weather conditions. Throughout the day, he utilizes a variety of methods—including spinning, jigging, popping, and bottom fishing—to keep his guests on the action. By focusing on the "why" behind every technique, he provides the valuable insight and support needed to help you sharpen your skills, build your confidence, and truly understand the rich dynamics of the Naples fishery.
The 25ft Pathfinder Center Console
The platform for these coastal adventures is a 2024 25-foot Pathfinder center console, a premium vessel engineered specifically for the diverse marine environments of Southwest Florida. Powered by a reliable Yamaha outboard engine, the boat delivers a smooth, stable, and secure ride with a cruising speed capable of reaching 45 knots to maximize your time spent fishing. The spacious center console layout provides a completely unobstructed, 360-degree deck area, allowing ample room for casting, fighting fish, and moving about safely.
